Why Do You Blog? Part 2
The first reason I am going to look at is to create an income.
I am sure there are many bloggers out there who started out this way and have been successful doing it. The Internet is definitely a place to make money, if done correctly.
To make money, you need traffic. That is key! If nobody is visiting, than nobody is buying. To start a blog this way is going to take a lot of planning.
First, you need to decide what your primary subject matter is going to be. This will take some serious research into keywords. You need to really narrow down what keywords you will write about because you will be writing for the search engines. If you do not get a good search engine ranking, you will not have much traffic, and therefore, no buyers.
Once you have decided, you need to buy a suitable domain name that contains your keyword.
Now time to start writing your content. Because you are writing for search engines, you need to pay very close attention to including your keywords into all of your content. You may even consider consulting a SEO expert, to see if they can help you optimize your content for the search engines.
I have seen different opinions on how many times you need to mention your keywords or how long your posts need to be, so I guess you need to experiment with this. No matter what, you need to always remember that the majority of your traffic at first needs to come from search engines, so you need to really concentrate on writing your ranking.
Did you start out this way? If so, how did it work out for you? Leave your comment below.
