Top 5 SEO Strategies Of All Time

I’ve been focused on helping web sites rank in the number one position for nearly a decade. As a result I’ve read and seen a lot of information published on SEO that is either totally inaccurate or validated with actual research. The good news is that I’ve sorted through a lot of this information to help you identify the best SEO strategies.

Having worked directly with hundreds of web sites I have discovered techniques for optimizing web sites that actually work. I often get question about SEO such as, “what is the one technique that works better than all others?” A difficult question to answer because I have found a number of techniques that are truly effective.

The first search engine ranking factor has to do with the anchor text of all inbound links to your website. Google and other search engines use the anchor text from other sites linking in to determine what your site is about and what it should rank well for. If websites link in only using a URL, and not your keywords in the anchor text, email them and ask them to update your link. The link should always appear with your most important keywords.

The Secret SEO Shortcut

I think you have already heard about the “Secret” piece of code that you actually paste on your website that will place it on top of the Google Search Results.

That thing doesn’t exist actually. Why not try to think about it for a minute. And if there is such thing don’t you think Google would be able to notice when a website shot to the top of the search ranking when no other criteria the algorithm looks for are met? As the usual saying goes, “Easy come, and easy go?” Just like life, the world of search marketing has no shortcut.

Indeed it’s true that the fastest way to the top is always with a map. This goes similar for, Search Engine Optimization. In order to achieve success, you have to build a website that is user-friendly and that that really provides meaningful, relevant information which serves as purpose. To get across your visitor, always have a plan. Make them interested and lead them to take action that you wanted them to take. You should use an easy structure so that visitors both human and Search Spiders can easily follow and digest. Then, make sure to use content that builds your sites value your users will want to share with others.

A History Of Web Directories

Someone once said, “Let information be freely available in digital form for humanity to peruse as it needs and wants,” and behold, the Internet was born. The Internet was born over the course of many months instead of seven days, but it remains a most miraculous source of information, with it being easy to search and navigate and giving millions opportunities to learn things that they may otherwise never know. The Internet, however, was not always so easy to use, and before search engines made everything really easy to find there was another method of finding information on the web. This method involved the use of something called web directories, which still exist in force today.

While there were several directories back in these good old days, there were two that stood out and became the largest and most used directories of the Internet at the time: the Yahoo Directory and the Open Directory Project. Yahoo shortly afterward released a “search engine” service, but it was another face of the same service: this “search engine” (and other engines of this time) only searched through the directory for results, so any website that had not yet been manually added to the directory didn’t exist as far as the engine was concerned

For several years directories enjoyed the status of the “go to guys” of the web. This was not to last, sadly, as some forward thinkers saw the potential limits of directories and how these would become more apparent as the Internet grew exponentially over the years. These forward thinkers happened to work at a small company called Google, and they developed what would become the most widely used search engine on the planet. Other search engines appeared following Google’s lead, and it seemed that directories would soon become a thing of the past. Directories have managed to hang on, however.

Every internet marketer wants to get to the top of the search engines. The way to do this is through search engine optimization and to get as many relevant one-way links pointing to your site as you can.

Search engine optimization is a collection of methods used to improve the search engine ranking of a website. Say an individual is searching for building birdhouses, they will key that phrase in a search engine, the search engine then provides them with a list of numerous websites containing information on building birdhouses. Search engine optimization is the best way to optimize the content and enhance the visibility of the search and continue to maintain visibility on search engines.

Search engine optimization has evolved immensely over the past years. It is important that your website keeps up. Search engine optimization is the main obstacle for most people who are starting their first website. You have the option of hiring a professional to do it for you but this will cost you. Search Engine Optimization can be the difference between a small, barely profitable or visible website and a high traffic website. Getting Indexed By Search Engine Spiders

Search engines use software programs knows as spiders to crawl the web to build the search engine databases. Web pages are retrieved by these programs and analyzed. To get your pages on the top of the search engines you need to first get them visited by these search engine spiders. Your job is to design your site so the spiders will find it and come back often, this will get your pages listed so they will be found when people search for them.

Search engines make their decisions based on programmed priorities. They don’t care how accurate or well-written the content on your site is, because they don’t know. Search engines rank the significance of your web page content by counting the number of other websites that link to your site and measuring the quality of the sites that link to your site. A high ranked website like ArticleCity referring to a blog post that you wrote will pull your blog higher up on Google’s search results.

Search engines do care that you have unique, fresh content. Unique, new content is like spider food, this is what they look for. Create good, original content, update it regularly and keep adding to it.

Get Google Traffic To Your Website

Although there are various types of traffic methods that you can use to promote your Internet business, not all of the methods will have similar results. There is only one method of traffic generation that will have the combined result of helping your Internet business to grow on all levels and that method is Google Traffic.

There may be many different sources of traffic that may be directed to your site: search engines, social networks, blogs and forums, link exchange, return visitors, word of mouth visitors, banner and other advertising visitors, paid traffic, free traffic, etc. Even though online sources may vary greatly, all the traffic directed to your web site can be divided into two basic categories: targeted and un-targeted.

Imagine a person, who has a half an hour to kill between two meetings and has to do some waiting in a public place such as a large store. This person really has no intention of making any purchases, but has some time to kill and entertain him or herself. He goes in and wanders around the shops (really any kind of shops) regardless of what they sell, not being much interested in the products, but rather in the process of passing the time and entertaining. This would be an illustration of un-targeted traffic.
